Military parade
The military defile is also back this year. The parade on Alsaahatplein will be accompanied by a Kanisian music choir, who will play some of the standard works of our national artists. But also elsewhere in the country, various musicians perform in honor of Eid Wataniun. Including Ahlam Ali, Kadim Al Sahir, Hakim and Dalida will be on display at five locations in Muqadas, Madbah, Muharib, Qadim and Salaa.
Ps: Tourism is prohibited on Eid Wataniun. There should be no tourism in the country on this day. On Eid Wataniun, Kanisa goes back to the roots of her ancestor Almuqadas. The Kanisian people are central to this and therefore no outsiders.
Stone martens plague Qadim town. And it doesn't look like they are afraid of the residents… They even paid a visit to carpet shop Duea.
The southern town of Qadim has been overrun by numerous stone martens for a whole week. The animals are normally shy, but the heat wave of the past few days has meant that there were few people on the streets. This was the perfect opportunity for the stone martens to quietly graze in gardens and walk around the city. This time, they even went 'shopping' at the carpet shop Duea.

The nearly two hundred stone martens are enjoying their trip to the city. However, this is very annoying for the residents. Under the bonnet, stone martens can cause major damage to wiring and insulation material. This can sometimes lead to dangerous situations, for example, when at high speed the engine suddenly stops generating power due to a leak in a petrol line, or when the brakes fail due to a broken brake cable. These incidents happen all the time because young stone marten do not know the difference between edible and inedible.
The Kanisa government, together with local exterminators, is now looking at how best to tackle the pest. In the meantime, residents can buy free spray cans at local supermarkets. With these sprays, they can already chase the martens away from their homes and cars. The government also strongly recommends inspecting your car yourself and checking for animals hiding under the bonnet.
Stay safe!

125 years! The oldest Kanisian and oldest man in the world died last Friday.
The oldest resident of Kanisa, Rajul Eajuz from Madbah, died on Friday night. This is confirmed by his family and doctor. He was 125 years and 17 days old.

Rajul Eajuz was born in Muharib on 19 October 1896. He moved to Salaa in the late 1920s. Here he started working in the petrol industry. After his marriage to Zawjat Alrajul Aleajuz, Rajul moved with her to Madbah, where he joined his wife's carpet family business. Rajul and Zawjat have 5 children.
As of April 2021, Eajuz was the oldest living Kanisian, following the death of Lays Faqat, who lived to be 125 years and 2 days old. In November, Rajul also became the oldest living resident of UBN 2, according to the UBN Supercentenarian Organisation (UBNSO).
The secret of becoming so old, according to Rajul, is strict adherence to God's demands. You have to keep to the prayer times and loving the people. The man was also a very big fan of Wali Taqi. Wali Taqi will soon have been in power for 60 years. Rajul has witnessed his entire career as a spiritual leader of Kanisa.
The man was very popular in the city of Madbah. This coming week, special memorial prayers will be held in Rajul's honour. The family says that all memories are cherished and that it is heartwarming to see people sympathise so much. He will be buried on Sunday with the spiritual ritual of Almuqadas beforehand.
